Overview

The Executive Dashboards give managing partners and firm leadership a view of the firm’s finances, people, and performance. Each page answers a different question.

Home

The firm’s financial pulse. Tracks the full revenue pipeline, from fees worked to billed, collected, and net income, each against the prior period and budget. Collection health is the focus: turnover, days to bill, days to pay, and cash receipts. Leaderboards show top collectors and unapplied cash, and alert tiles flag aging AR and WIP that may need attention. Built from: revenue, receipts, timesheets, proformas and prebills, invoices, WIP, AR, clients, matters, timekeepers, offices, and practice groups.

Inventory

Where WIP and AR are piling up, and who is holding them. Breaks WIP and AR down by aging bucket, with month-over-month trend lines. Leaderboards rank attorneys, clients, and matters by outstanding balances. A separate view shows unreturned proformas. Built from: WIP, AR, proformas and prebills, invoices, revenue, clients, matters, timekeepers, offices, and practice groups.

Productivity

Attorney utilization and hours. Shows billable hours against targets by practice group and title, with FTE headcount trends for context. Includes time entry velocity, average billable hours per FTE per day, and days to release time. A leaderboard ranks attorneys by hours and target attainment, so leadership can see who is on pace and where capacity is short. Built from: timesheets, timekeepers, revenue, targets, offices, and practice groups.

Rates

Rate realization and pricing health. Tracks effective rates and realization over time, comparing standard, effective, and collected rates by title. A rate opportunity view finds timekeepers billing well below the firm average and sizes the revenue at stake. Alert tiles flag clients and matters with high write-downs or discounts. Built from: timesheets, write-offs and write-downs, revenue, timekeepers, rates, clients, matters, offices, and practice groups.

Client

One client in depth. Select a client to see their full financial profile: AR and WIP aging, collections against the prior year, realization, and leverage. Includes invoice history, open matters, timekeeper activity, and how long it has been since the last time entry, invoice, or payment. Built for partners preparing for a client conversation or reviewing account health. Built from: clients, revenue, WIP, AR, invoices, timesheets, timekeepers, offices, and practice groups.

Matter

One matter in depth. The Client page’s view, scoped to a single matter. Shows WIP aging, collections, and realization, along with timekeeper activity, invoice history, and matter details such as practice group, office, and open date. Built for billing attorneys managing matter economics. Built from: clients, matters, revenue, WIP, AR, invoices, timesheets, timekeepers, offices, and practice groups.

Timekeeper

One attorney’s performance profile. Shows a timekeeper’s fees worked, billed, and collected over time, billing realization by year, and hours against target. Compares their utilization and realization with the firm average, and shows their WIP and AR aging, write-downs, top clients and matters, the partners they bill time to, and the timekeepers they work with most. Built for performance reviews and partner self-service. Built from: timekeepers, revenue, WIP, AR, timesheets, offices, practice groups, and diversity metrics.

Performance

How new hires are tracking. Lists recent lateral and associate hires by title, with annual hours and projections, salary, merit bonus, and total compensation. Shows leadership whether new investments in talent are on track for their revenue targets. Built from: timekeepers, revenue, WIP, AR, timesheets, offices, and practice groups.

Headcount

Practice group growth. Compares headcount and production across practice groups year over year, and flags groups with significant growth or decline. Helps leadership see where the firm is gaining or losing capacity. Built from: timekeepers and all other employees, offices, departments, and practice groups.
