Overview
Deleting a connection permanently removes the connection configuration, authentication credentials, and all associated collection settings. However, data already collected to your data lakehouse is preserved.Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives to deletion:Set Connection to Inactive
Temporarily pause collection without losing configuration
Disable Specific Resources
Stop collection for individual resources while keeping the connection
Access Requirements
To delete connections, you must:- Be logged into the Entegrata Admin Portal
- Have administrative privileges for your instance
- Have confirmation that the connection is no longer needed
What Gets Deleted
When you delete a connection: Removed:- ❌ Connection configuration and credentials
- ❌ All resource collection settings
- ❌ Collection schedules and dependencies
- ❌ Job history and execution records
- ❌ Discovery metadata
- ✅ Data already collected in your data lakehouse
- ✅ Downstream transformations and reports (may need data source updates)
Deleting a Connection
Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog appears warning about the permanent actionReview the warning and type the connection name to confirm
Post-Deletion
After deletion:- The connection disappears from the Connections page
- All associated resources are no longer accessible via Entegrata
- Scheduled collection jobs are canceled
- Data in your lakehouse remains available for queries and reports
If you need to reconnect to the same data source, create a new connection with the same credentials and configuration.
